✧ In the ethics of the forbidden

أَخْبَرَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ابْنِ عُلَيَّةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا وَهْبُ بْنُ جَرِيرٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي قَالَ سَمِعْتُ قَيْسَ بْنَ سَعْدٍ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ عَطَاءٍ عَنْ صَفْوَانَ بْنِ يَعْلَى عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ

أَتَى رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ رَجُلٌ وَهُوَ بِالْجِعِرَّانَةِ وَعَلَيْهِ جُبَّةٌ وَهُوَ مُصَفِّرٌ لِحْيَتَهَ وَرَأْسَهُ قَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنِّي أَحْرَمْتُ بِعُمْرَةٍ وَأَنَا كَمَا تَرَى قَالَ «انْزِعْ عَنْكَ الْجُبَّةَ وَاغْسِلْ عَنْكَ الصُّفْرَةَ وَمَا كُنْتَ صَانِعًا فِي حَجِّكَ فَاصْنَعْهُ فِي عُمْرَتِكَ»

✧ A man came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ while he was at al-Jiʿranah, wearing a jubbah and having dyed his beard and head yellow. He said: “O Messenger of Allah, I have entered ihram for ʿumrah, and I am as you see.” He said: “Remove the jubbah from you and wash off the yellow from you, and whatever you would have done in your hajj, do it in your ʿumrah.”
