✧ The Virtue of Hajj

أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ رَاهُوَيْهِ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا جَرِيرٌ وَهُوَ ابْنُ عَبْدِ الْحَمِيدِ عَنْ حَبِيبٍ وَهُوَ ابْنُ أَبِي عَمْرَةَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ بِنْتِ طَلْحَةَ قَالَتْ أَخْبَرَتْنِي أُمُّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ عَائِشَةُ قَالَتْ

قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَلَا نَخْرُجُ فَنُجَاهِدُ مَعَكَ فَإِنِّي لَا أَرَى عَمَلًا فِي الْقُرْآنِ أَفْضَلَ مِنَ الْجِهَادِ؟ قَالَ «لَا وَلَكُنَّ أَحْسَنُ الْجِهَادِ وَأَجْمَلُهُ حَجُّ الْبَيْتِ حَجٌّ مَبْرُورٌ»

✧ I said, “O Messenger of Allah, should we not go out and fight in jihad with you? For I do not see any deed in the Qurʾan more virtuous than jihad.” He said, “No, but the best and most beautiful jihad is the Hajj of the House, an accepted Hajj.”
