al-Sunan al-Kubra (al-Nasa'i) 3336

✧ Seclusion without fasting, and mentioning the differences in the words of the narrators of the news of Umar's dispute with Ubaidullah b. Umar in that dispute.

أَخْبَرَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي نَافِعٌ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ عَنْ عُمَرَ

أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنِّي نَذَرْتُ أَنْ أَعْتَكِفَ لَيْلَةً فِي الْمَسْجِدِ الْحَرَامِ فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ قَالَ «أَوْفِ بِنَذْرِكَ»

✧ He asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, saying, "O Messenger of Allah, I vowed to observe i'tikaf for one night in the Sacred Mosque during the Jahiliyyah." He said, "Fulfill your vow."
