أَخْبَرَنَا حُسَيْنُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ النَّيْسَابُورِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي عَرُوبَةَ عَنْ أَبِي مَالِكٍ عَنْ ابن بُريدَةَ قَالَ
دَخَلْتُ عَلَى أَبِي مُوسَى وَهُوَ يَحْتَجِمُ لَيْلًا فَقُلْتُ هَلَّا كَانَ هَذَا نَهَارًا؟ فَقَالَ تَأْمُرُنِي أَنْ أُهَرِيقَ دَمِي وَأَنَا صَائِمٌ وَقَدْ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «أَفْطَرَ الْحَاجِمُ وَالْمَحْجُومُ»

✧ I entered upon Abu Musa while he was being cupped at night, and I said: Why was this not during the day? He said: Do you command me to spill my blood while I am fasting, when I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: “The cupper and the one cupped have broken the fast”?
