أَخْبَرَنَا حُمَيْدُ بْنُ مَسْعَدَةَ بَصْرِيٌّ عَنْ بِشْرٍ وَهُوَ ابْنُ الْمُفَضَّلِ الْبَصْرِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ عَوْنٍ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنِ الْأَسْوَدِ قَالَ
انْطَلَقْتُ أَنَا وَمَسْرُوقٌ إِلَى أُمِّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ فَقُلْنَا أَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُبَاشِرُ وَهُوَ صَائِمٌ؟ قَالَتْ «قَدْ كَانَ يَفْعَلُ وَلَكِنَّهُ أَمْلَكُ لِإِرْبِهِ مِنْكُمْ»

✧ Masruq and I went to the Mother of the Believers and said, "Would the Messenger of Allah ﷺ engage in foreplay while fasting?" She said, "He used to do it, but he had more control over his desire than you."
