أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ هِشَامٍ الْحَرَّانِيُّ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ «لَوْلَا أَنْ أَشُقَّ عَلَى أُمَّتِي لَفَرَضْتُ عَلَيْهِمُ السِّوَاكَ عِنْدَ كُلِّ صَلَاةٍ» قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ كَانَ يَحْيَى الْقَطَّانُ يَقُولُ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو أَصْلَحُ مِنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ فِي الْحَدِيثِ

✧ The Prophet ﷺ said: "Were it not that I would make things difficult for my Ummah, I would have made the siwak obligatory upon them at every prayer." Abu Abd al-Rahman said: Yahya al-Qattan used to say: Muhammad b. Amr is more sound than Muhammad b. Ishaq in hadith.
