al-Sunan al-Kubra (al-Nasa'i) 2947

✧ Fasting for those who wake up in a state of impurity, and mentioning the differences concerning Abu Huraira in that matter.

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا وَذَكَرَ خَالِدًا عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ

أَنَّ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ كَانَ يَقُولُ مَنْ أَصْبَحَ جُنُبًا فَلْيُفْطِرْ فَأَرْسَلَ مَرْوَانُ إِلَى عَائِشَةَ فَقَالَتْ «كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُصْبِحُ جُنُبًا مِنْ جِمَاعٍ غَيْرِ حُلْمٍ ثُمَّ يَصُومُ» ثُمَّ أَتَى أُمَّ سَلَمَةَ فَقَالَتْ كَانَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يُصْبِحُ جُنُبًا ثُمَّ يَصُومُ فَأَتَى مَرْوَانَ فَأَخْبَرَهُ بِقَوْلِ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ وَعَائِشَةَ فَقَالَ امْشِ إِلَى أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ فَأَتَاهُ فَأَخْبَرَهُ بِقَوْلِ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ وَعَائِشَةَ فَقَالَ هَكَذَا كُنْتُ أَحْسِبُ وَاللَّفْظُ لِابْنِ الْمُثَنَّى قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ أَرْسَلَهُ خَالِدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ وَعَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ

✧ That Abu Hurayrah used to say: Whoever wakes up in a state of major ritual impurity should break his fast. So Marwan sent to 'A'ishah, and she said: 'The Messenger of Allah ﷺ would wake up in a state of major ritual impurity from intercourse, not a dream, then fast.' Then he came to Umm Salamah, and she said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ would wake up in a state of major ritual impurity, then fast. So he came to Marwan and informed him of the statement of Umm Salamah and 'A'ishah. He said: Go to Abu Hurayrah. So he came to him and informed him of the statement of Umm Salamah and 'A'ishah. He said: This is what I thought. The wording is that of Ibn al-Muthanna. Abu 'Abd al-Rahman said: Khalid b. 'Abd Allah and 'Abd al-'Aziz narrated it as mursal.
