أَخْبَرَنَا كَثِيرُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ الْحِمْصِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ عَنِ الزُّبَيْدِيِّ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ أَنَّهُ بَلَغَهُ أَنَّ مَسْعُودَ بْنَ الْحَكَمِ كَانَ يُخْبِرُ

عَنْ بَعْضِ عُلَمَائِهِمْ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ بَعَثَ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ حُذَافَةَ يَطُوفُ بِأَهْلِ مِنًى عَلَى نَاقَةٍ حَمْرَاءَ يَقُولُ «لَا يَصُومَنَّ هَذِهِ الْأَيَّامَ أَحَدٌ فَإِنَّمَا هُنَّ أَيَّامُ أَكْلٍ وَشُرْبٍ وَذِكْرِ اللهِ»

✧ From one of their scholars among the companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ: He sent Abdullah b. Hudhafah to go around the people of Mina on a red she-camel saying: “No one should fast these days, for they are only days of eating, drinking, and remembrance of Allah.”
