أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ وَرْقَاءَ عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ عَنْ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «مَنْ صَامَ رَمَضَانَ وَسِتَّةً مِنْ شَوَّالٍ فَكَأَنَّمَا صَامَ الدَّهْرَ» قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ سَعْدُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ضَعِيفٌ كَذَلِكَ قَالَ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ حَنْبَلٍ وَهُمْ ثَلَاثَةُ إِخْوَةٍ يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ الثِّقَةُ الْمَأْمُونُ أَحَدُ الْأَئِمَّةِ وَعَبْدُ رَبِّهِ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ لَا بَأْسَ بِهِ وَسَعْدُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ثَالِثُهُمْ ضَعِيفٌ

✧ From the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, he said: “Whoever fasts Ramaḍān and six days of Shawwāl, it is as if he has fasted the entire age.” Abu ʿAbd al-Raḥmān said: Saʿd b. Saʿīd is weak. This is what Aḥmad b. Ḥanbal said. They are three brothers: Yaḥyā b. Saʿīd b. Qays, the trustworthy and reliable one, one of the imams; ʿAbd Rabbih b. Saʿīd, who is acceptable; and Saʿd b. Saʿīd, the third of them, who is weak.
