أَخْبَرَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ حُرَيْثٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ عَنْ أَبِي عُمَيْسٍ عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ عَنْ طَارِقِ بْنِ شِهَابٍ عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى قَالَ
كَانَ يَوْمُ عَاشُورَاءَ يَوْمًا تَصُومُهُ الْيَهُودُ وَتَتَّخِذُهُ عِيدًا فَلَمَّا قَدِمَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ الْمَدِينَةَ أُخْبِرَ بِذَلِكَ قَالَ «فَصُومُوهُ أَنْتُمْ» خَالَفَهُ رَقَبَةُ

✧ The day of Ashura was a day the Jews fasted and took as a festival. When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came to Madinah, he was informed of that. He said, "So fast it yourselves." Raqabah differed from him.
