✧ What do women do when they menstruate?

أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْقَاسِمِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

خَرَجْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ لَا نَرَى إِلَّا الْحَجَّ فَلَمَّا كَانَ بِسَرَفٍ حِضْتُ فَدَخَلَ عَلَيَّ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَأَنَا أَبْكِي فَقَالَ «مَا لَكِ أَنُفِسْتِ؟» فَقُلْتُ نَعَمْ فَقَالَ «هَذَا أَمْرٌ قَدْ كَتَبَهُ اللهُ عَلَى بَنَاتِ آدَمَ فَاقْضِي مَا يَقْضِي الْحَاجُّ غَيْرَ أَنْ لَا تَطُوفِي بِالْبَيْتِ»

✧ We went out with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ intending nothing but Hajj. When we were at Sarif, I menstruated. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered upon me while I was crying, and said, "What is the matter with you? Have you menstruated?" I said, "Yes." He said, "This is a matter that Allah has decreed for the daughters of Adam. So do what the pilgrim does, except that you should not circumambulate the House."
