✧ Prohibition of fasting on Saturday and mentioning the disagreement of narrators regarding the report of Abdullah b. Busr about it.

أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ صَالِحٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ بُسرٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عَمَّتِهِ الصَّمَّاءِ أُخْتِ بُسرٍ قَالَتْ

نَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَنْ صِيَامِ يَوْمِ السَّبْتِ وَيَقُولُ «إِنْ لَمْ يَجِدْ أَحَدُكُمْ إِلَّا عُودًا أَخْضَرَ فَلْيُفْطِرْ عَلَيْهِ»

Translation

  1. Qutaybah b. Saʿīd
  2. al-Layth
  3. Muʿāwiyah b. Ṣāliḥ
  4. Ibn ʿAbdullāh b. Busr from his father
  5. ʿAmmatih al-Ṣammāʾ Ukht Busr

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prohibited fasting on Saturday and said: “If one of you finds nothing but a green twig, let him break his fast with it.”
