✧ The status of fasting for a menstruating woman

أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ يعني ابْنَ مُسْهِرٍ عَنْ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ مُعَاذَةَ الْعَدَوِيَّةِ أَنَّ امْرَأَةً سَأَلَتْ عَائِشَةَ أَتَقْضِي الْحَائِضُ الصَّلَاةَ إِذَا طَهُرَتْ؟ فَقَالَتْ

«أَحَرُورِيَّةٌ أَنْتِ؟ قَدْ كُنَّا نَحِيضُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ ثُمَّ نَطْهُرُ فَيَأْمُرُنَا بِقَضَاءِ الصَّوْمِ وَلَا يَأْمُرُنَا بِقَضَاءِ الصَّلَاةِ»

✧ "Are you a Haruri? We used to menstruate during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and then become pure. He would order us to make up the fast but not order us to make up the prayer."
