أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا جَرِيرٌ عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ عَنْ رِبْعِيِّ بْنِ حِرَاشٍ عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ بْنِ الْيَمَانِ

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «لَا تَقَدَّمُوا الشَّهْرَ حَتَّى تَرَوُا الْهِلَالَ أَوْ تُكْمِلُوا الْعِدَّةَ ثُمَّ صُومُوا حَتَّى تَرَوُا الْهِلَالَ أَوْ تُكْمِلُوا الْعِدَّةَ قَبْلَهُ»

Translation

Chain of narrators

  4. Ribʿī b. Ḥirāsh
  5. Ḥudhayfah b. al-Yamān

✧ From the Messenger of Allah ﷺ: "Do not precede the month until you sight the crescent or complete the count. Then fast until you sight the crescent or complete the count before it."
