أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنِ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بِشْرٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ عَنِ الْأَعْرَجِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ

ذَكَرَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ الْهِلَالَ فَقَالَ «إِذَا رَأَيْتُمُوهُ فَصُومُوا فَإِذَا رَأَيْتُمُوهُ فَأَفْطِرُوا فَإِنْ غُمَّ عَلَيْكُمْ فَعُدُّوا ثَلَاثِينَ»

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ mentioned the crescent and said: "When you sight it, fast; and when you sight it, break the fast. If it is obscured from you, then count thirty."
