أَخْبَرَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ سَعْدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَمِّي قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي عَنِ ابْنِ إِسْحَاقَ قَالَ وَذَكَرَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ عَنْ أُوَيْسِ بْنِ أَبِي أُوَيْسٍ عَدِيدِ بَنِي تَيْمٍ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «هَذَا رَمَضَانُ قَدْ جَاءَكُمْ تُفَتَّحُ فِيهِ أَبْوَابُ الْجَنَّةِ وَتُغَلَّقُ فِيهِ أَبْوَابُ النَّارِ وَتُسَلْسَلُ فِيهِ الشَّيَاطِينُ» قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ هَذَا الْحَدِيثُ خَطَأٌ وَلَمْ يَسْمَعْهُ ابْنُ إِسْحَاقَ مِنَ الزُّهْرِيِّ وَالصَّوَابُ مَا تَقَدَّمَ ذِكْرُنَا لَهُ

Translation

Chain of narrators
  1. ʿUbaydullāh b. Saʿd from my uncle from my father
  2. Ibn Isḥāq
  3. And Dhakar Muḥammad b. Muslim
  4. Ūways b. Abū Ūways ʿAdīd Banī Taym
  5. Anas b. Mālik

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'This Ramadan has come to you. The gates of Paradise are opened therein, the gates of the Fire are closed therein, and the devils are chained therein.' Abu Abd al-Rahman said: This hadith is a mistake; Ibn Ishaq did not hear it from al-Zuhri, and the correct version is what we have previously mentioned.
