أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْحَكَمُ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي رَافِعٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ اسْتَعْمَلَ رَجُلًا مِنْ بَنِي مَخْزُومٍ عَلَى الصَّدَقَةِ فَأَرَادَ أَبُو رَافِعٍ أَنْ يَتْبَعَهُ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِنَّ الصَّدَقَةَ لَا تَحِلُّ لَنَا وَإِنَّ مَوَالِي الْقَوْمِ مِنْهُمْ»

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ appointed a man from Banu Makhzum to collect sadaqah, and Abu Rafi' wanted to follow him. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Sadaqah is not lawful for us, and the freed slaves of a people are from among them."
