✧ The washing of men and women from their private utensil

أَخْبَرَنَا سُوَيْدُ بْنُ نَصْرٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ هُرْمُزَ الْأَعْرَجَ يَقُولُ حَدَّثَنِي نَاعِمٌ مَوْلَى أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ أَنَّ أُمَّ سَلَمَةَ سُئِلَتْ أَتَغْتَسِلُ الْمَرْأَةَ مَعَ الرَّجُلِ؟ قَالَتْ

نَعَمْ «إِذَا كَانَتْ كَيِّسَةً رَأَيْتُنِي وَرَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ نَغْتَسِلُ مِنْ مِرْكَنٍ وَاحِدٍ نُفِيضُ عَلَى أَيْدِينَا حَتَّى نُنَقِّيهَا ثُمَّ نُفِيضُ عَلَيْنَا الْمَاءَ» قَالَ الْأَعْرَجُ لَا تَذْكُرُ فَرْجًا وَلَا تُبَالِيهِ

Translation

✧ Yes, if she was wise. She said, “I saw myself and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ bathing from a single washtub, pouring water over our hands until we had cleaned them, then pouring water over ourselves.” Al-A‘raj said, “She did not mention the private parts, and she did not mind it.”
