✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "The example of the spender, the giver of charity, and the miser is like two men upon whom are two coats of mail or two shields of iron from their chests to their collarbones. When the spender intends to spend, the coat of mail expands or passes until it covers his fingertips and conceals his tracks. When the miser intends to spend, it contracts and each ring clings to its place until it grips his collarbone or his neck." Abu Hurayrah said: "I bear witness that he saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ like that," he said: "he would widen it and it would not widen." Tawus said: "I heard Abu Hurayrah gesturing with his hand while he was widening it and it would not widen."
