✧ The Preferred Time to Perform Zakat al-Fitr

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَعْدَانَ بْنِ عِيسَى قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ أَعْيَنَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ عُقْبَةَ وأَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ بَزِيعٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْفُضَيْلُ هُوَ ابْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ عُقْبَةَ عَنْ نَافِعٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ «أَمَرَ بِصَدَقَةِ الْفِطْرِ أَنْ تُؤَدَّى قَبْلَ خُرُوجِ النَّاسِ إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ» وَقَالَ ابْنُ بَزِيعٍ فِي حَدِيثِهِ بِزَكَاةِ الْفِطْرِ

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ ordered that the Zakat al-Fitr be given before people go out for prayer. Ibn Bazir said in his hadith about Zakat al-Fitr, Abu Abdullah said, "Fudail ibn Sulaiman used to weaken it, and Ali ibn Madini used to narrate from him, and the saying of Yahya is more correct with us, because we found in the narrations of Fudail ibn Sulaiman the mention of rejected hadiths, and with Allah is the success."
Notes
✧ Abu Abdullah (Imam Ahmad) said: Fudayl ibn Sulayman used to criticize Yahya ibn Ma'in, and Ali ibn Al-Madini used to narrate from him. The saying of Yahya, according to us, is more correct because we found at Fudayl ibn Sulayman's narrations of discredited traditions. And with Allah is success.
قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ «فُضَيْلُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ هَذَا كَانَ يَحْيَى بْنُ مَعِينٍ يُضَعِّفُهُ وَكَانَ عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْمَدِينِيِّ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْهُ وَقَوْلُ يَحْيَى عِنْدَنَا أَوْلَى بِالصَّوَابِ لِأَنَّا وَجَدْنَا عِنْدَ فُضَيْلِ بْنِ سُلَيْمَانَ أَحَادِيثَ مَنَاكِيرَ وَبِاللهِ التَّوْفِيقُ»
