أَخْبَرَنَا مُجَاهِدُ بْنُ مُوسَى قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي مُحِلُّ بْنُ خَلِيفَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو السَّمْحِ قَالَ

كُنْتُ أَخْدُمُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَكَانَ إِذَا أَرَادَ أَنْ يَغْتَسِلَ قَالَ «وَلِّنِي قَفَاكَ فَأُوَلِّيهِ قَفَايَ فَأَسْتُرُهُ بِهِ»

Translation

Chain of narrators

  2. ʿAbd al-Raḥman
  3. Yaḥyá b. al-Walīd
  4. Muḥil b. Khalīfah
  5. Abū al-Samḥ

✧ I used to serve the Prophet ﷺ, and when he wanted to bathe he would say, “Turn your back to me.” So I would turn my back to him and screen him with it.
