✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood and gave an exhortation, saying: “O people, you will be gathered to Allah naked.” Abu Dawud said: “Barefoot and uncircumcised.” Waki' and Wahb said: “Naked, uncircumcised—‘As We began the first creation, We shall restore it’ [al-Anbiya' 104].” He said: “The first to be clothed on the Day of Resurrection will be Ibrahim. Then some men of my community will be brought—Abu Dawud said: ‘taken’—and taken to the left side. I will say: ‘My Lord, my companions.’ It will be said: ‘You do not know what they innovated after you.’ Then I will say as the righteous servant said: ‘And I was a witness over them as long as I was among them; but when You took me up, You were the Watcher over them, and You are Witness over all things. If You punish them, they are Your servants; and if You forgive them, You are the Mighty, the Wise’ [al-Ma'idah 117–118] to the end of the verse. Then it will be said: ‘These people have not ceased turning back’—Abu Dawud said: ‘apostatizing on their heels’—since you parted from them.”
