✧ Abandoning prayer for one who commits suicide

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ ذَكْوَانَ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ «مَنْ تَرَدَّى مِنْ جَبَلٍ فَقَتَلَ نَفْسَهُ فَهُوَ فِي نَارِ جَهَنَّمَ يَتَرَدَّى فِيهَا خَالِدًا مُخَلَّدًا فِيهَا أَبَدًا وَمَنْ تَحَسَّى سُمًّا فَقَتَلَ نَفْسَهُ فَسُمُّهُ فِي يَدِهِ يَتَحَسَّاهُ فِي نَارِ جَهَنَّمَ خَالِدًا مُخَلَّدًا فِيهَا أَبَدًا وَمَنْ قَتَلَ نَفْسَهُ بِحَدِيدَةٍ ثُمَّ انْقَطَعَ عَلَيَّ شَيْءٌ يَعْنِي خَالِدًا كَانَتْ حَدِيدَتُهُ فِي يَدِهِ يَجَأُ بِهَا فِي بَطْنِهِ فِي نَارِ جَهَنَّمَ خَالِدًا مُخَلَّدًا فِيهَا أَبَدًا»

Translation

✧ From the Prophet ﷺ, he said: "Whoever throws himself down from a mountain and kills himself will be in the Fire of Hell, throwing himself down therein, remaining there forever. Whoever drinks poison and kills himself, his poison will be in his hand, and he will drink it in the Fire of Hell, remaining there forever. Whoever kills himself with an iron weapon, then something was cut off from me—meaning he will remain forever—his iron will be in his hand, stabbing himself in the belly with it in the Fire of Hell, remaining there forever."
