✧ Order to Follow Funerals

أَخْبَرَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ الْبَلْخِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْأَحْوَصِ هُوَ سَلَّامُ بْنُ سُلَيْمٍ وَأخبرنا هَنَّادُ بْنُ السَّرِيِّ عَنْ حَدِيثُ أَبِي الْأَحْوَصِ عَنْ أَشْعَثَ عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ سُوَيْدٍ قَالَ

قَالَ الْبَرَاءُ بْنُ عَازِبٍ «أَمَرَنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ بِسَبْعٍ وَنَهَانَا عَنْ سَبْعٍ أَمَرَنَا بِعِيَادَةِ الْمَرِيضِ وَاتِّبَاعِ الْجَنَازَةِ وَتَشْمِيتِ الْعَاطِسِ وَإِبْرَارِ الْمُقْسِمِ وَنَصْرِ الْمَظْلُومِ وَإِفْشَاءِ السَّلَامِ وَإِجَابَةِ الدَّاعِي وَنَهَانَا عَنْ خَوَاتِيمِ الذَّهَبِ وَعَنْ آنِيَةِ الْفِضَّةِ وَعَنِ الْمَيَاثِرِ وَالْقَسِّيَّةِ وَالْإِسْتَبْرَقِ وَالْحَرِيرِ وَالدِّيبَاجِ»

✧ Al-Bara' b. 'Azib said: "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ commanded us with seven things and forbade us from seven. He commanded us to visit the sick, to follow funerals, to bless the one who sneezes, to fulfill the oath of the one who swears, to help the oppressed, to spread peace, and to accept the invitation of the one who invites. And he forbade us from gold rings, from silver vessels, from silken saddle cloths, from Qassi fabric, from heavy brocade, from pure silk, and from embroidered silk."
