أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا وَكِيعٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنِ الْأَشْعَثِ بْنِ أَبِي الشَّعْثَاءِ عَنِ الْأَسْوَدِ بْنِ هِلَالٍ عَنْ ثَعْلَبَةَ بْنِ زَهْدَمٍ الْحَنْظَلِيِّ قَالَ كُنَّا مَعَ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْعَاصٍ بِطَبَرِسْتَانَ وَمَعَنَا حُذَيْفَةُ بْنُ الْيَمَانِ فَقَالَ

أَيُّكُمْ صَلَّى مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ صَلَاةَ الْخَوْفِ؟ فَقَالَ حُذَيْفَةُ أَنَا فَوَصَفَ فَقَالَ «صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ صَلَاةَ الْخَوْفِ بِطَائِفَةٍ رَكْعَةٍ صُفَّتْ خَلْفَهُ وَطَائِفَةٍ أُخْرَى بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ الْعَدُوِّ فَصَلَّى بِالطَّائِفَةِ الَّتِي تَلِيهِ رَكْعَةً ثُمَّ نَكَصَ هَؤُلَاءِ إِلَى مَصَافِّ أُولَئِكَ وَجَاءَ أُولَئِكَ فَصَلَّى بِهِمْ رَكْعَةً»

✧ He said: “Which of you prayed the prayer of fear with the Messenger of God ﷺ?” Hudhayfah said: “I did,” and he described it, saying: “The Messenger of God ﷺ prayed the prayer of fear with one group: one rakʿah—a row was formed behind him and another group between him and the enemy. He prayed one rakʿah with the group that was next to him, then these fell back to the positions of those, and those came, and he prayed one rakʿah with them.”
