✧ The sun eclipsed, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed with the people. He stood for a long standing, about the length of Surat al-Baqarah. Then he bowed a long bowing, then rose and stood a long standing, but shorter than the first standing. Then he bowed a long bowing, but shorter than the first bowing. Then he prostrated, then stood a long standing, but shorter than the first standing. Then he bowed a long bowing, but shorter than the first bowing. Then he rose and stood a long standing, but shorter than the first standing. Then he bowed a long bowing, but shorter than the first bowing. Then he prostrated, then finished, and the sun had cleared. He said: "The sun and the moon are two signs among the signs of Allah. They do not eclipse for the death or life of anyone. When you see that, remember Allah." They said: "O Messenger of Allah, we saw you reach for something in your place, then we saw you draw back." He said: "I saw Paradise, or Paradise was shown to me, and I reached for a cluster from it. Had I taken it, you would have eaten from it as long as the world remains. And I saw the Fire, and I have never seen a sight like today. I saw that most of its inhabitants are women." They said: "Why, O Messenger of Allah?" He said: "Because of their ingratitude." It was said: "Do they disbelieve in Allah?" He said: "They are ungrateful to their husbands and ungrateful for kindness. If you were to do good to one of them for a lifetime, then she saw something from you, she would say: 'I have never seen any good from you.'"
