أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي رَافِعٍ قَالَ
كَانَ مَرْوَانُ يَسْتَخْلِفُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ عَلَى الْمَدِينَةِ فَيَقْرَأُ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ بِسُورَةِ الْجُمُعَةِ وَالْمُنَافِقِينَ قُلْتُ يَا أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ لَقَدْ قَرَأْتَ سُورَتَيْنِ كَانَ عَلِيٌّ يَقْرَأُ بِهِمَا قَالَ سَمِعْتُ حِبِّي أَبَا الْقَاسِمِ ﷺ يَقْرَأُ بِهِمَا
Translation

✧ Marwan used to appoint Abu Hurayrah as his deputy over Madinah. On Friday he would recite Surah al-Jumu'ah and Surah al-Munafiqun. I said: "O Abu Hurayrah, you have recited two surahs that Ali used to recite." He said: "I heard my beloved Abu al-Qasim ﷺ reciting them."
