أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الزُّهْرِيُّ عَنْ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ يَبْلُغُ بِهِ
النَّبِيَّ ﷺ «إِذَا كَانَ يَوْمُ الْجُمُعَةِ كَانَ عَلَى كُلِّ بَابٍ مِنْ أَبْوَابِ الْمَسْجِدِ يَعْنِي مَلَائِكَةً يَكْتُبُونَ النَّاسَ عَلَى مَنْازِلِهِمُ الْأَوَّلَ فَالْأَوَّلَ فَإِذَا خَرَجَ الْإِمَامُ طُوِيَتِ الصُّحُفُ وَاسْتَمَعُوا الْخُطْبَةَ فَالْمُهَجِّرُ إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ كَالْمُهْدِي بَدَنَةً ثُمَّ الَّذِي يَلِيهِ كَالْمُهْدِي بَقَرَةً ثُمَّ الَّذِي يَلِيهِ كَالْمُهْدِي كَبْشًا حَتَّى ذَكَرَ الدَّجَاجَةَ وَالْبَيْضَةَ»

✧ The Prophet ﷺ said: 'When Friday comes, at every gate of the mosque—meaning angels—they write down people according to their ranks, the first then the next. When the imam comes out, the scrolls are folded up and they listen to the sermon. The one who comes early to prayer is like one who sacrifices a camel, then the next like one who sacrifices a cow, then the next like one who sacrifices a ram, until he mentioned the chicken and the egg.'
