أَخْبَرَنِي إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ وَيَحْيَى بْنُ حَمَّادٍ وَالنَّسَقُ لِعَفَّانَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ عَنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ عَنْ أَبِي مَعْشَرٍ زِيَادِ بْنِ كُلَيْبٍ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ عَنْ قَرْثَعٍ الضَّبِّيِّ عَنْ سَلْمَانَ قَالَ
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «أَتَدْرِي مَا يَوْمُ الْجُمُعَةِ؟» قُلْتُ اللهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَعْلَمُ قَالَ «لَكِنِّي أَنَا أُحَدِّثُكَ عَنْ يَوْمِ الْجُمُعَةِ لَا يَتَطَهَّرُ رَجُلٌ ثُمَّ يَمْشِي إِلَى الْجُمُعَةِ ثُمَّ يُنْصِتُ حَتَّى يَقْضِيَ الْإِمَامُ صَلَاتَهُ إِلَّا كَانَتْ كَفَّارَةً لِمَا بَيْنَهَا وَبَيْنَ الْجُمُعَةِ الَّتِي قَبْلَهَا مَا اجْتُنِبَتِ الْمَقْتَلَة»

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Do you know what the day of Friday is?" I said: "Allah and His Messenger know best." He said: "But I shall tell you about the day of Friday: no man purifies himself, then walks to Friday prayer, then remains silent until the imam finishes his prayer, except that it becomes an expiation for what is between it and the previous Friday, as long as major sins are avoided."
