أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا مُسْهِرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ سَلْعٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي عَنْ عَبْدِ خَيْرٍ قَالَ

صَلَّيْنَا مَعَ عَلِيٍّ الْفَجْرَ فَلَمَّا سَلَّمَ قَامَ وَقُمْنَا مَعَهُ فَجَاءَ يَمْشِي حَتَّى انْتَهَى إِلَى الرَّحْبَةِ فَجَلَسَ وَأَسْنَدَ ظَهْرَهُ إِلَى الْحَائِطِ فَرَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ فَقَالَ يَا قَنْبَرُ ائْتِنِي بِالرَّكْوَةِ وَالطَّسْتِ فَجَاءَ قَنْبَرٌ فَقَالَ لَهُ ضَعْ فَوَضَعَ الطَّسْتَ ثُمَّ قَالَ لَهُ صُبَّ فَصَبَّ عَلَيْهِ فَغَسَلَ كَفَّيْهِ ثَلَاثًا ثَلَاثًا ثُمَّ قَالَ لَهُ ضَعْ فَوَضَعَ الرَّكْوَةِ فَأَدْخَلَ يَدَهُ الْيُمْنَى فَأَخَذَ مِلْءَ كَفِّهِ مَاءً فَمَضْمَضَ ثَلَاثًا وَاسْتَنْشَقَ ثَلَاثًا ثُمَّ أَدْخَلَ كَفَّهُ فَغَسَلَ وَجْهَهُ ثَلَاثًا ثُمَّ أَدْخَلَ كَفَّهُ الْيُمْنَى فَغَسَلَ ذِرَاعَهُ الْأَيْمَنَ ثَلَاثًا ثُمَّ أَدْخَلَهَا فَغَسَلَ ذِرَاعَهُ الْأَيْسَرَ ثَلَاثًا ثُمَّ أَدْخَلَ كَفَّهُ الْيُمْنَى فَبَسَطَ أَصَابِعَهُ فِي الْمَاءِ بَسْطًا ثُمَّ رَفَعَهَا فَمَسَحَهَا عَلَى كَفِّهِ الْيُسْرَى كَمَسْحِكَ بِيَدَيْكَ بِالدُّهْنِ ثُمَّ مَسَحَ بِهِمَا رَأْسَهُ وَأُذُنَيْهِ وَغَسَلَ رِجْلَيْهِ ثَلَاثًا ثُمَّ أَدْخَلَ كَفَّهُ الْيُمْنَى فَأَخَذَ مِلْأَهَا مَاءً فَشَرِبَهَا ثُمَّ الْتَفَتَ إِلَيْنَا فَقَالَ هَذَا وُضُوءُ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ أَحْبَبْتُ أَنْ أُرِيَكُمُوهُ

✧ We prayed the dawn prayer with 'Ali. When he said the taslim, he stood up and we stood with him. He came walking until he reached the open courtyard, then he sat down and leaned his back against the wall. He raised his head and said, “O Qanbar, bring me the water skin and the basin.” Qanbar came, and he said to him, “Put it down.” So he placed the basin. Then he said to him, “Pour.” So he poured water over his hands, and he washed his palms three times. Then he said to him, “Put it down.” He placed the water skin, and he inserted his right hand and took a handful of water, rinsed his mouth three times and sniffed water into his nose three times. Then he inserted his palm and washed his face three times. Then he inserted his right palm and washed his right forearm three times. Then he inserted it and washed his left forearm three times. Then he inserted his right palm and spread his fingers in the water, then raised them and wiped them over his left palm, like wiping your hands with oil. Then he wiped with them his head and his ears, and washed his feet three times. Then he inserted his right palm and took a handful of water and drank it. Then he turned to us and said, “This is the ablution of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ; I wanted to show it to you.”
