أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ عُثْمَانَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ حِمْيَرَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عَبْلَةَ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ
أَعْتَمَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لَيْلَةً بِالْعَتَمَةِ فَنَادَاهُ عُمَرُ نَامَ النِّسَاءُ وَالصِّبْيَانُ فَخَرَجَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ «مَا يَنْتَظِرُهَا غَيْرُكُمْ» وَلَمْ تَكُنْ تُصَلَّى يَوْمَئِذٍ إِلَّا بِالْمَدِينَةِ ثُمَّ قَالَ «صَلُّوا فِيمَا بَيْنَ أَنْ يَغِيبَ الشَّفَقُ إِلَى ثُلُثِ اللَّيْلِ»

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ delayed the night prayer one night. Umar called out to him: 'The women and children have gone to sleep.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came out and said: 'No one waits for it except you.' At that time it was not prayed anywhere except in Madinah. Then he said: 'Pray it between the disappearance of the twilight and the first third of the night.'
