أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرٌ عَنْ أَبِي عِمْرَانَ الْجَوْنِيِّ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ

وُقَّتَ لَنَا فِي قَصِّ الشَّارِبِ وَتَقْلِيمِ الْأَظْفَارِ وَحَلَقِ الْعَانَةِ وَنَتْفِ الْإِبْطِ أَنْ لَا نَتْرُكَ أَكْثَرَ مِنْ أَرْبَعِينَ يَوْمًا وَقَالَ مَرَّةً أُخْرَى أَرْبَعِينَ لَيْلَةً

Translation

✧ A time was set for us regarding trimming the mustache, clipping the nails, shaving the pubic hair, and plucking the armpit hair: that we not leave it more than forty days. And he said another time: forty nights.
