أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا وَهْبُ بْنُ جَرِيرٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ ثَابِتٍ عَنْ أَنَسٍ
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ كَانَ «يَرْفَعُ يَدَيْهِ فِي الدُّعَاءِ حَتَّى يُرَى بَيَاضُ إِبْطَيْهِ» قَالَ شُعْبَةُ فَأَتَيْتُ عَلِيَّ بْنَ زَيْدٍ فَذَكَرْتُ لَهُ ذَلِكَ فَقَالَ إِنَّمَا يُرِيدُ فِي الِاسْتِسْقَاءِ فَقُلْتُ لَهُ أَسَمِعْتَهُ مِنْ أَنَسٍ؟ قَالَ سُبْحَانَ اللهِ قُلْتُ أَسَمِعْتَهُ مِنْ أَنَسٍ؟ قَالَ سُبْحَانَ اللهِ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ وَقَدْ رَوَى هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ قَتَادَةُ عَنْ أَنَسٍ

Zayd and mentioned that to him, and he said, “He means only in the prayer for rain.” I said to him, “Did you hear it from Anas?” He said, “Glory be to God!” I said, “Did you hear it from Anas?” He said, “Glory be to God!” Abū ʿAbd al-Raḥmān said: Qatādah also narrated this hadith from Anas.
