أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ عَنِ الْأَسْوَدِ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ عَائِشَةَ
عَنْ صَلَاةِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَتْ كَانَ «يَنَامُ أَوَّلَ اللَّيْلِ ثُمَّ يَقُومُ فَإِذَا كَانَ مِنَ السَّحَرِ أَوْتَرَ وَأَتَى فِرَاشَهُ فَإِنْ كَانَتْ لَهُ حَاجَةً أَلَمَّ بِأَهْلِهِ فَإِذَا سَمِعَ الْأَذَانَ وَثَبَ فَإِنْ كَانَ جُنُبًا أَفَاضَ عَلَيْهِ مِنَ الْمَاءِ وَإِلَّا تَوَضَّأَ ثُمَّ خَرَجَ إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ»

✧ She was asked about the prayer of the Messenger of God ﷺ. She said: “He used to sleep at the beginning of the night, then get up. When it was the time before dawn, he prayed witr and then went to his bed. If he needed his wife, he would go to her. When he heard the call to prayer, he would get up quickly. If he was in a state of major impurity, he would pour water over himself; otherwise he would perform ablution and then go out to pray.”
