✧ I prayed with the Prophet ﷺ one night. He began with al-Baqarah and recited. I thought he would bow at the hundredth verse, but he continued. I thought he would bow at the two hundredth verse, but he continued. I thought he would pray the whole surah in one rak`ah, but he continued. Then he began al-Nisa and recited it, then began Al Imran and recited it. He recited slowly; when he came to a verse of glorification, he glorified; when he came to a verse of asking, he asked; and when he came to a verse of seeking refuge, he sought refuge. Then he bowed and said: “Glory be to my Lord, the Almighty.” His bowing was approximately as long as his standing. Then he raised his head and said: “God hears the one who praises Him.” His standing after bowing was close to his bowing. Then he prostrated and said: “Glory be to my Lord, the Most High.” His prostration was close to his bowing.
