أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رِبْعِيًّا عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ ظَبْيَانَ رَفَعَهُ إِلَى أَبِي ذَرٍّ
عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ ثَلَاثَةٌ يُحِبُّهُمُ اللهُ رَجُلٌ أَتَى قَوْمًا فَسَأَلَهُمْ بِاللهِ وَلَمْ يَسْأَلْهُمْ بِقَرَابَةٍ بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَهُمْ فَمَنَعُوهُ فَتَخَلَّفَهُمْ رَجُلٌ بِأَعْقَابِهِمْ فَأَعْطَاهُ سِرًّا لَا يُعَلِّمُ بِعَطِيَّتِهِ إِلَّا اللهُ وَالَّذِي أَعْطَاهُ وَقَوْمٌ سَارُوا لَيْلَتَهُمْ حَتَّى إِذَا كَانَ النَّوْمُ أَحَبَّ إِلَيْهِمْ مِمَّا يَعْدِلُ بِهِ نَزَلُوا فَوَضَعُوا رُؤُوسَهُمْ فَقَامَ يَتَمَلَّقُنِي وَيَتْلُو آيَاتِي وَرَجُلٌ كَانَ فِي سَرِيَّةٍ فَلَقُوا الْعَدُوَّ فَهُزِمُوا فَأَقْبَلَ بِصَدْرِهِ حَتَّى يُقْتَلَ أَوْ يُفْتَحَ لَهُ خَالَفَهُ سُفْيَانُ الثَّوْرِيُّ 1317 أَخْبَرَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ بْنِ مَيْمُونَ الرَّقِّيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ وَهُوَ ابْنُ يُوسُفَ الْفِرْيَابِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ عَنْ رِبْعِيٍّ عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ نَحْوَهُ

✧ From the Prophet ﷺ who said, “Three whom Allah loves: a man who came to a people and asked them by Allah, not by any kinship between him and them, but they refused him; then a man stayed behind among them and gave him secretly, no one knowing of his gift except Allah and the one to whom he gave it; and a people who traveled through their night until sleep became dearer to them than anything equal to it, and they dismounted and laid down their heads, but one of them stood up, seeking My favor and reciting My verses; and a man who was in a raiding party and they met the enemy and were defeated, but he advanced with his chest until he was killed or victory came to him.” Sufyan al-Thawri disagreed with it. 1317 Muhammad b. 'Ali b. Maymun al-Raqqi informed me, saying: Muhammad, who is Ibn Yusuf al-Firyabi, narrated to us, saying: Sufyan narrated to us from Mansur from Rib'i from Abu Dharr who said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said something similar.
