أَخْبَرَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ وَهُو ابْنُ يُوسُفَ الْأَزْرَقُ عَنْ عَوْفٍ الْأَعْرَابِيِّ
عَنْ أَبِي خَالِدٍ وَاسْمُهُ عِنْدِي مُهَاجِرٌ وَغَيْرُهُ يَقُولُ أَبُو مَخْلَدٍ عَنْ أَبِي الْعَالِيَةِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو مُسْلِمٍ قَالَ قُلْتُ لِأَبِي ذَرٍّ أَيُّ صَلَاةِ اللَّيْلِ أَفْضَلَ؟ فَقَالَ سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ «نِصْفُ اللَّيْلِ وَقَلِيلٌ فَاعِلُهُ»

✧ From Abu Khalid, whose name in my view is Muhajir, though others say Abu Makhlad, from Abu al-'Aliyah, who said: Abu Muslim narrated to me, saying: I said to Abu Dharr: Which night prayer is best? He said: I asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and he said: "The middle of the night, and few do it."
