أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ الْمُقْرِئَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ عَنِ الْأَعْرَجِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِذَا نَامَ أَحَدُكُمْ عَقَدَ الشَّيْطَانُ عَلَى رَأْسِهِ ثَلَاثَ عِقْدٍ يَضْرِبُ عَلَى كُلِّ عُقْدَةٍ لَيْلًا طَوِيلًا أَيِ ارْقُدْ فَإِذَا اسْتَيْقَظَ فَذَكَرَ اللهَ انْحَلَّتْ عُقْدَةً فَإِنْ تَوَضَّأَ انْحَلَّتْ أُخْرَى فَإِنْ صَلَّى انْحَلَّتِ الْعِقْدُ كُلُّهَا فَيُصْبِحُ طِيِّبَ النَّفْسِ نَشِيطًا وَإِلَّا أَصْبَحَ خَبِيثَ النَّفْسِ كَسْلَانًا»

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "When one of you sleeps, Satan ties three knots on his head, striking over each knot: 'You have a long night, so sleep.' If he wakes and remembers Allah, one knot is undone. If he performs ablution, another is undone. If he prays, all the knots are undone, and he enters the morning cheerful and energetic. Otherwise, he enters the morning foul-spirited and lazy."
