✧ The Imam's Sitting in His Mosque After the Salutation

أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ آدَمَ حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ وَذَكَرَ آخَرَ عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ قَالَ
قُلْتُ لِجَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ كُنْتَ تُجَالِسُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ؟ قَالَ نَعَمْ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «إِذَا صَلَّى الْفَجْرَ جَلَسَ فِي مُصَلَّاهُ حَتَّى تَطْلُعَ الشَّمْسُ فَيَتَحَدَّثُ أَصْحَابُهُ وَيَذْكُرُونَ حَدِيثَ الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ وَيُنْشِدُونَ الشِّعْرَ وَيَضْحَكُونَ وَيَتَبَسَّمُ ﷺ»

✧ I said to Jabir b. Samurah: "Did you sit with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ?" He said: "Yes. When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had prayed the dawn prayer, he would sit in his place of prayer until the sun rose. His companions would talk and mention the affairs of the pre-Islamic era, recite poetry, and laugh, and he would smile ﷺ."
