أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ أَشْعَثَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ
سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ عَنْ عَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ فَقَالَ «نَعَمْ عَذَابُ الْقَبْرِ حَقٌّ» قَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ فَمَا رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يُصَلِّي صَلَاةً بَعْدُ إِلَّا تَعَوَّذَ مِنْ عَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ

✧ I asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about the punishment of the grave. He said: “Yes, the punishment of the grave is true.” ‘Ā’ishah said: “I never saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ pray any prayer afterwards without seeking refuge from the punishment of the grave.”
