✧ As for that, I supplicated in it with supplications I heard from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. When he stood, a man from the people—it was my father, but he referred to himself indirectly—followed him and asked him about the supplication. Then he came and told the people: “O Allah, by Your knowledge of the unseen and Your power over creation, keep me alive as long as You know life is good for me, and take me when You know death is good for me. O Allah, I ask You for fear of You in the unseen and the witnessed, and the word of truth in pleasure and anger. I ask You for moderation in poverty and wealth. I ask You for everlasting bliss and unceasing coolness of the eyes. I ask You for contentment after the decree, and a pleasant life after death. I ask You for the delight of looking at Your face and the longing to meet You without harmful harm or misleading trial. O Allah, adorn us with the adornment of faith and make us guides who are rightly guided.”
