أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُصَرِّفِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو حَدَّثَنَا زَيْدُ بْنُ حُبَابٍ حَدَّثَنَا شَدَّادُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ حَدَّثَنَا غَيْلَانُ بْنُ جَرِيرٍ عَنْ مُطَرِّفِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ

جِئْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ {أَلْهَاكُمُ التَّكَاثُرُ} [التكاثر 1] حَتَّى خَتَمَهَا

Translation

Chain of narrators
  1. Aḥmad b. Muṣarrif b. ʿAmr
  2. Zayd b. Ḥubāb
  3. Shaddād b. Saʿīd
  4. Ghaylān b. Jarīr
  5. Muṭarrif b. ʿAbdullāh from his father

✧ I came to the Prophet ﷺ while he was reciting the verse "The mutual rivalry in worldly increase diverts you" [Surah Al-Takathur, Verse 1] and he continued until he completed it.
