أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ حَدَّثَنَا جَابِرُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ بْنِ رِفَاعَةَ الْعِجْلِيِّ عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي سُلَيْمَانَ عَنْ زِرِّ بْنِ حُبَيْشٍ قَالَ
لَوْلَا سُفَهَاؤُكُمْ لَوَضَعْتُ يَدِي فِي أُذُنِي فَنَادَيْتُ إِنَّ لَيْلَةَ الْقَدْرِ لَيْلَةُ سَبْعٍ وَعِشْرِينَ نَبَأُ مَنْ لَمْ يَكْذِبْنِي عَنْ نَبَأِ مَنْ لَمْ يُكْذِبْنِي يَعْنِي عَنْ أُبَيِّ بْنِ كَعْبٍ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ سُفَهَاؤُكُمْ سَقَطَتِ الْهَاءُ مِنْ كِتَابِي

✧ Were it not for your foolish ones, I would have put my hand over my ear and proclaimed: Laylat al-Qadr is the night of the twenty-seventh. A report from one who did not belie me, from the report of one who did not belie me, meaning from Ubayy b. Ka'b, from the Prophet ﷺ. Abu Abd al-Rahman said: 'your foolish ones' - the 'h' dropped from my book.
