✧ It was said to Ibn Abbas about a woman who gave birth twenty nights after her husband's death: Is it permissible for her to marry? He said, "No, except at the end of the two terms." He said: I said, "Allah, Blessed and Exalted is He, said: 'And for those who are pregnant, their term is that they deliver their burden.'" He said, "That is only in divorce." Abu Hurayrah said, "I am with my nephew," meaning Abu Salamah. He sent his servant Kurayb, saying, "Go to Umm Salamah and ask her: Was this a Sunnah from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ?" He came to him and said, "She said: Yes, Subay'ah al-Aslamiyyah gave birth twenty nights after her husband's death, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ordered her to marry. Abu al-Sanabil was among those who proposed to her."
