أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ عَنْ عَاصِمٍ عَنْ حَفْصَةَ عَنْ أُمِّ عَطِيَّةَ قَالَتْ
لَمَّا نَزَلَتْ هَذِهِ الْآيَةُ {إِذَا جَاءَكَ الْمُؤْمِنَاتُ يُبَايِعْنَكَ} [الممتحنة 12] إِلَى قَوْلِهِ {وَلَا يَعْصِينَكَ فِي مَعْرُوفٍ} [الممتحنة 12] قَالَتْ كَانَ مِنْهُ النِّيَاحَةُ فَقُلْتُ إِلَّا آلَ فُلَانٍ فَإِنَّهُمْ قَدْ كَانُوا أَسْعَدُونِي فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ فَلَا بُدَّ لِي مِنْ أَنْ أُسْعِدَهُمْ قَالَ «إِلَّا آلَ فُلَانٍ»

✧ When this verse was revealed: “When the believing women come to you to give you their pledge” [60:12] up to His saying, “and they will not disobey you in what is right” [60:12], she said: “Part of it was wailing. I said, ‘Except the family of so-and-so, for they consoled me in the days of ignorance, so I must console them.’ He said: ‘Except the family of so-and-so.’”
