أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «بَيْنَ النَّفْخَتَيْنِ أَرْبَعُونَ» قَالُوا يَا أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ أَرْبَعُونَ يَوْمًا؟ قَالَ أَبَيْتُ قَالُوا أَرْبَعُونَ شَهْرًا؟ قَالَ أَبَيْتُ قَالُوا أَرْبَعُونَ سَنَةً؟ قَالَ أَبَيْتُ قَالَ «ثُمَّ يَنْزِلُ اللهُ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ مَاءً فَيَنْبُتُونَ كَمَا يَنْبُتُ الْبَقْلُ» قَالَ «وَلَيْسَ مِنَ الْإِنْسَانِ شَيْءٌ إِلَّا يَبْلَى إِلَّا عَظْمٌ وَاحِدٌ وَهُوَ عَجْبُ الذَّنَبِ» قَالَ وَفِيهِ يُرَكَّبُ الْخَلْقُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ
Translation

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Between the two blowings is forty." They said, "O Abu Hurayrah, forty days?" He said, "I refuse." They said, "Forty months?" He said, "I refuse." They said, "Forty years?" He said, "I refuse." He said, "Then Allah sends down water from the sky, and they grow as herbs grow." He said, "There is nothing of the human being that does not decay except one bone, and it is the coccyx." He said, "From it the creation will be reassembled on the Day of Resurrection."
