أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ إِنَّ عِفْرِيتًا مِنَ الْجِنِّ انْفَلَتَ الْبَارِحَةَ لِيَقْطَعَ عَلَيَّ صَلَاتِي فَأَمْكَنَنِي اللهُ مِنْهُ فَأَخَذْتُهُ فَأَرَدْتُ أَنْ أَرْبِطَهُ إِلَى سَارِيَةٍ مِنْ سَوَارِي الْمَسْجِدِ حَتَّى تَنْظُرُونَ إِلَيْهِ فَذَكَرْتُ دَعْوَةَ أَخِي سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ دَاوُدَ وَقَوْلَهُ {رَبِّ اغْفِرْ لِي وَهَبْ لِي مُلْكًا لَا يَنْبَغِي لِأَحَدٍ مِنْ بَعْدِي} [ص 35] فَرَدَدْتُهُ خَاسِئًا

✧ From the Prophet ﷺ: “A jinn ifrit broke loose last night to interrupt my prayer, but Allah enabled me to overpower him. I seized him and wanted to tie him to one of the pillars of the mosque so that you could see him. Then I remembered the supplication of my brother Solomon son of David and his words: {My Lord, forgive me and grant me a kingdom that will not belong to anyone after me} [Sad 35], so I sent him away humiliated.”
