أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْمُعْتَمِرُ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مِجْلَزٍ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ
لَمَّا تَزَوَّجَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ زَيْنَبَ بِنْتَ جَحْشٍ دَعَا الْقَوْمَ فَطَعِمُوا ثُمَّ جَلَسُوا يَتَحَدَّثُونَ قَالَ فَأَخَذَ كَأَنَّهُ يَتَهَيَّأُ لِلْقِيَامِ فَلَمْ يَقُومُوا فَلَمَّا رَأَى ذَلِكَ قَامَ مَنْ قَامَ مِنَ الْقَوْمِ وَقَعَدَ ثَلَاثَةٌ قَالَ وَإِنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ جَاءَ لَيَدْخُلَ فَإِذَا الْقَوْمُ جُلُوسٌ ثُمَّ إِنَّهُمْ قَامُوا فَانْطَلَقُوا فَجِئْتُ فَأَخْبَرْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ أَنَّهُمْ قَدِ انْطَلَقُوا فَجَاءَ حَتَّى دَخَلَ فَذَهَبْتُ أَدْخُلُ فَأَلْقَى الْحِجَابَ بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَهُ وَأَنْزَلَ اللهُ ﷻ {يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لَا تَدْخُلُوا بُيُوتَ النَّبِيِّ إِلَّا أَنْ يُؤْذَنَ لَكُمْ إِلَى طَعَامٍ غَيْرَ نَاظِرِينَ إِنَاهُ} [الأحزاب 53] إِلَى {إِنَّ ذَلِكُمْ كَانَ عِنْدَ اللهِ عَظِيمًا} [الأحزاب 53]

✧ When the Prophet ﷺ married Zaynab bint Jahsh, he invited the people, and they ate, then they sat conversing. He made as if to get up, but they did not rise. When he saw that, those who got up from the people rose, and three remained seated. The Prophet ﷺ came to enter and found the people sitting. Then they got up and left. I came and told the Prophet ﷺ that they had left. He came and entered, and I went to enter, but he let down a curtain between me and him. And Allah ﷻ revealed: {O you who have believed, do not enter the houses of the Prophet unless permission is given to you for a meal, without awaiting its readiness} [al-Ahzab: 53] up to {Indeed, that is ever, in the sight of Allah, an enormity} [al-Ahzab: 53].
