Sūrat al-Aḥzāb

أَخْبَرَنَا الْهَيْثَمُ بْنُ أَيُّوبَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ قَالَ ابْنُ شِهَابٍ عَنْ خَارِجَةَ أَنَّ أَبَاهُ قَالَ

فَقَدْتُ آيَةً مِنْ سُورَةِ الْأَحْزَابِ حِينَ نَسَخْنَا الْمُصْحَفَ كُنْتُ أَسْمَعُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقْرَؤُهَا فَوَجَدْتُهَا مَعَ خُزَيْمَةَ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ {مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ رِجَالٌ صَدَقُوا مَا عَاهَدُوا اللهَ عَلَيْهِ} [الأحزاب 23] فَأَلْحَقْتُهَا فِي سُورَتِهَا فِي الْمُصْحَفِ

✧ I missed a verse of Surat al-Ahzab when we were copying the mushaf. I used to hear the Messenger of Allah ﷺ reciting it. I found it with Khuzaymah b. Thabit: {Among the believers are men who have been true to what they pledged to Allah} [al-Ahzab 23]. So I appended it to its surah in the mushaf.
