أَخْبَرَنَا هَنَّادُ بْنُ السَّرِيِّ عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا دَخَلَ أَهْلُ النَّارِ النَّارَ وَأُدْخِلَ أَهْلُ الْجَنَّةِ الْجَنَّةَ يُجَاءُ بِالْمَوْتِ كَأَنَّهُ كَبْشٌ أَمْلَحُ فَيُنَادِي مُنَادٍ يَا أَهْلَ الْجَنَّةِ تَعْرِفُونَ هَذَا؟ قَالَ فَيَشْرَئِبُّونَ وَيَنْظُرُونَ وَكُلٌّ قَدْ رَأَوْهُ فَيَقُولُونَ نَعَمْ هَذَا الْمَوْتُ ثُمَّ يُنَادِي يَا أَهْلَ النَّارِ تَعْرِفُونَ هَذَا؟ فَيَشْرَئِبُّونَ وَيَنْظُرُونَ وَكُلُّهُمْ قَدْ رَأَوْهُ فَيَقُولُونَ نَعَمْ هَذَا الْمَوْتُ فَيُؤْخَذُ فَيُذْبَحُ ثُمَّ يُنَادِي يَا أَهْلَ الْجَنَّةِ خُلُودٌ وَلَا مَوْتَ وَيَا أَهْلَ النَّارِ خُلُودٌ وَلَا مَوْتَ فَذَلِكَ قَوْلُهُ {وَأَنْذِرْهُمْ يَوْمَ الْحَسْرَةِ إِذْ قُضِيَ الْأَمْرُ وَهُمْ فِي غَفْلَةٍ} [مريم 39] قَالَ أَهْلُ الدُّنْيَا فِي غَفْلَةٍ

Translation

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'When the people of the Fire enter the Fire and the people of Paradise enter Paradise, Death will be brought in the form of a white ram with black spots, and a caller will announce: "O people of Paradise, do you recognize this?" They will crane their necks and look, and all of them will have seen it, and they will say: "Yes, this is Death." Then he will announce: "O people of the Fire, do you recognize this?" They will crane their necks and look, and all of them will have seen it, and they will say: "Yes, this is Death." Then it will be taken and slaughtered. Then the caller will announce: "O people of Paradise, eternity and no death; O people of the Fire, eternity and no death." That is His saying: {And warn them of the Day of Regret, when the matter will be decided, while they are in heedlessness} [Maryam 39]. He said: 'The people of this world are in heedlessness.'
